GOODELL - Wava Opal Langlitz, 88, lifelong resident of the Goodell area, died Wednesday (Oct. 24, 2001) at the Belmond Health Care Center in Belmond, where she had been a resident since Oct. 9, 2001.

Wava Wilson, was born on Oct. 5, 1913, at Goodell, the daughter of Leonard "Len" and Mary (Oleson) Wilson. She attended and graduated from Goodell High School. She married Ira Langlitz, on Jan. 21, 1933, at Austin, Minn. They celebrated their 68th anniversary this year. She was a lifelong member of the Goodell United Methodist Church and a charter member of the Goodell American Legion Auxiliary. Wava was a lifelong homemaker and farmed with her husband in Twin Lake Township, northwest of Goodell, for 35 years, retiring in 1972. The couple then moved into Goodell. Wava enjoyed playing cards, working jigsaw puzzles and having her family come to visit. She and Ira enjoyed spending their winters in the South for 25 years.

Left to mourn her passing are her husband, Ira; and her two sons, Larry and his wife, Gail, and Kenneth Langlitz, all of Goodell; one daughter-in-law, Sherry Langlitz, of Garner; a brother-in-law, Forrest Langlitz, of Klemme; grandchildren, Leon and his wife, Denise Langlitz, of Lenexa, Kan., Kimberly and her husband, Clayton Palmquist, of West Chester, Rebecca and her husband, Jan Tvedt, of Britt, Stacey Trager, of Britt, Tom Langlitz, of Lenexa, Kan., and Nancy Langlitz, of Garner; five great-grandchildren, Michael Trager, Alex Palmquist, Ashley Langlitz and Taylor and Tannyn Tvedt. She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Eileen, in 1999; a son, Bill, in 2000; son-in-law, Myron Trager; three sisters, Viola, Norva and Avis; and three brothers, Harvey, Verdie and Verdale.

Her funeral will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday at the Goodell United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Paddy Druhl officiating. Interment will be at the Amsterdam Cemetery, Goodell. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the Tenold Funeral Home in Belmond, and will continue one hour before the services on Saturday at the church.
