August 13, 1977Ollie Mae Mosley, the daughter of Lloyd and Ida Reed Mosley, was born May 16, 1887, at Kansas City, Kans. She attended school at Cisne, Ill and received her training as a LPN at the Peoria State Hospital in Peoria, Ill. On July 5, 1908, she was married to Frank Nelson of Flora, Ill. at Bedford, Ill. Following their marriage they made their home in St. Louis. They moved to Eagle Grove in 1917. For 17 1/2 years she operated the Wright County Nursing Home in Eagle Grove. Mr. Nelson died in 1965.
Mrs. Nelson died Sunday, August 7, at Trinity Regional Hospital in Fort Dodge at the age of 90 years, 2 months and 21 days.
Survivors include three sons: Clifford Nelson and John Nelson, Eagle Grove; Edgar Nelson, Columbus, Ohio; three daughters: Margaret (Mrs. James) Louberto, Des Moines; Vesta Mae (Mrs. Duane) Anderson, Renwick; Mary Lea (Mrs. Verne) Schaefer, Eagle Grove; 30 grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters: Grace Coteus, Chicago, Ill; Maude Jones, Rockford, Ill.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Rebekah Lodge. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and four daughters: Viola, Nell, Stella, and Ione.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, August 10, at 2 pm at the First Baptist Church, Eagle Grove. Rev. Charles Dutton officiated and burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery.
