Timothy Miller, 35, of Dubuque, died Wednesday, March 5, 2008, at his home in Dubuque. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 8, at St. Luke's United Methodist Church, 1199 Main St. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Hoffmann Schneider & Kitchen Funeral Home, 3860 Asbury Rd.

He was born on July 8, 1972, in Dubuque, son of Franklin Sr. and Marie (Adams) Miller Reed. He attended Dubuque Senior High School and graduated in 1990 from Dubuque Central High School. Tim was employed at the Carnegie Stout Public Library from age 16 until the summer of 2007. He recently was employed at the Dubuque Greyhound Park and Casino as a cage supervisor. Tim was a talented self- taught guitarist and drummer. He loved music and played with Ng Kindheit band for some time. He played his music strictly for enjoyment. He was a voracious reader of all kinds of books. He enjoyed fishing and target shooting, but his love of animals kept him from hunting. Tim had many exotic pets over the years, including tarantulas, snakes and a monitor lizard. He was anything but ordinary and his choice of pets reflected that. He also enjoyed gourmet cooking, and his special dish was Greek seasoned pork loin. Tim always was ahead of the curve and was extremely intelligent. He will be remembered for his generosity of spirit, his curiosity and his deep love for his family.

Surviving are his mother [grew up in Eagle Grove] and stepfather, Marie and Gordon Reed, of Springbrook; two brothers, Franklin (Sheree) Miller, of Dubuque, and Kerry (Ann) Miller, of Waukesha, Wis.; two sisters, Melanie (Al Johnson) Miller and Marie Miller, both of Dubuque; maternal grandmother, Viola Adams, of Eagle Grove, Iowa; step grandmother, Garland Reed, of Bellevue; four nieces and nephews, Franklin (friend, Jessica) Miller III, Kristina (Michael) Sexton, Van Miller, and Raven Medina; and three great-nieces and nephews, Austin, Alex and Brady. He was preceded in death by his father, Franklin Sr., in 2004; a brother, Martin in 1973; his paternal grandparents; and his maternal grandfather. A Timothy Miller Memorial Fund has been established.
