VINCENT — Marold L. Miller, 84, of Vincent, died Saturday, March 15, 2008, at the Fort Dodge Villa Care Center. Services will be 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the Gunderson Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Paul Stone officiating. Interment will be in the Newark Township Cemetery near Vincent. Military honors will be presented by V.F.W. Post No. 1856. The visitation is Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services.

Marold is survived by his sons, Gary (Diane) Miller, Vincent; Don (Bonnie) Miller, Fort Dodge; Dennis (Sharon) Miller, Vincent; his grandchildren, Heath (Kris), Chaad (Julie), Gregg (fiancee Rachel Mickelson), Monica, Mark (Casey), Jon (Maria), Kellie (Mike) Henniger; great-grandchildren, Devin, Lexie, Lincoln, Jacob, Jordan, Zoey, Casey, Gracie, Drayton, Austin, Dylan, Lance, Rylie and Caleb; his sister Margaret Miller, Minneapolis; his sister-in-law Mary Smith, Humboldt; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Pauline, his parents, his great-grandchild Tabitha, his sister Kathryn and his brother Robert.

Marold L. Miller, the son of V.G. and Doris (Swenson) Miller, was born July 5, 1923, in Palm Grove, Iowa. He attended Burnside School and graduated from Pioneer High School in 1940. After his schooling, Marold was involved in farming. On June 29, 1942, Marold was united in marriage to Pauline Fisher at Renwick. Marold served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II and was a veteran of the Battle of Iwo Jima. Following his discharge, Marold returned to Iowa where he worked for his father’s farm implement dealership. In 1966, Marold purchased the business from his father and operated it until his retirement. Pauline preceded Marold in death in 1996.

Marold was a lifelong member of the South Enes Lutheran Church at Vincent. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Eagle Grove, the V.F.W. Post No. 1856 and the Marine Corp League chapter in Fort Dodge. He was a long time member of the Vincent Fire Department and formerly served as fire chief. Marold was a member of the Vincent Lions Club and the Loyal Order of the Moose in Fort Dodge. Memorials may be directed to the discretion of the family.
