CONNIE ELBERTA BLOOM (Goldfield, IA) ... Connie Elberta Bloom, daughter of Elmer G. and Bertha Z. Bloom, was born November 16, 1934, at Mercer and died August 3, 1993, at the Clarion Community Memorial in Clarion, IA, at the age of 58 years, 8 months, and 17 days.

Connie was educated in Princeton. She was united in marriage to Rex Woodley of Mercer on May 21, 1955, at Mercer. The couple made their home in Mercer, until moving to Goldfield, IA, in February of 1957. Connie was employed with All-Star Pro Golf in Clarion, IA, until ill health forced her retirement in 1988.

Survivors include her husband, Rex, of the home; three sons, Richard of Ida Grove, Gary Ray of Jefferson, and Edward of Vincent; two daughters, Judith Ann Slobodnik of Mt. Pleasant, and Elberta Jean Woodley of Goldfield; seven grandchildren, Bryan, Melinda, Andrew, Daniel, Morgan, Kacie, and Kylie Woodley; three step-grandchildren, Rebecca, Cindy, and Beth Slobodnik; her stepmother, Ella Mae Bloom of Richmond; a brother J.D. Bloom of Princeton; a half brother, David Bloom of Richmond; a step-brother, Ernest Provo of South Hadley, MA; a half-sister, Carol Dickerson of Cameron; and two step-sisters, Sylvia Anderson of Hamilton, and Joan Stoner of Arpen, WI.

Connie was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services were held Friday, August 6, 1993, at the Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home in Eagle Grove, IA. The Pastor Tony Brandt of the Park Church of Christ in Goldfield, officiated the service. Burial was in Glenwood Cemetery, Goldfield, IA.
