1884 -- December 30, 1899

On the morning of Friday, December 30th, occurred the death of Mary Morhain, the oldest daughter of M. Morhain, aged seventeen years. Death came as a happy release as the end of a long, lingering illness. The sorrowing family have the heartfelt sympathy of a wide circle of friends in this hour of their bereavement. Mary was a sweet-spirited girl, a gentle, loving daughter, sister and friend. She suffered silently and uncomplainingly throughout the weary weeks of her decline, and when hope failed her "as one who folds the garments of sleep around her," she calmly passed away. The funeral service was held at the church Sunday at 11 a.m. and the burial took place in the Clarion cemetery the same day.
