Evelyn L. Goranson, 85, enjoyed reading and sewing

Evelyn Louise Goranson, the daughter of Francis and Clara Dingman, was born November 26, 1922, in Webster City, Iowa. She was reared and educated in the area of her birth. On August 19, 1971, she was united in marriage with Cecil S. Goranson, at the Park Church of Christ parsonage in Goldfield. The couple made their home in Eagle Grove, where she worked for the Scott’s Store and TG&Y. Cecil preceded her in death on September 12, 1988. She was a member of the Park Church of Christ in Goldfield. She enjoyed sewing, embroidery, reading, and loved animals.

Evelyn Goranson died on Friday, February 15, 2008, at the Wright Medical Center in Clarion at the age of 85 years. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Allie and William Dingman; and sisters, Zella Dingman, Gladys Lane, and Virgil Middleton. Survivors include her nieces, Marsha Pressler, and husband, Bruce, of Eagle Grove, Carolyn Hilpipre, and husband, Denny, of Woolstock, and Lynn and Richard Davies of Richardson, Texas; nephews, Don Dingman, and wife, Nancy, of Bloomington, Minn., and Earl Scott, and wife Kinetta, of Davenport, and a brother-in-law, Albert Middleton of Webster City.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, February 19, 2008, at 1:30 p.m., at the Foust Funeral Home in Eagle Grove, with Pastor Robert Dishman officiating. Burial was held in Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family. Foust Funeral Home of Eagle Grove was in charge of arrangements.
