DEATH CLAIMS REV. ODELL

REV. DENNIS ODELL, RETIRED BAPTIST MINISTER, DIES AT HOME IN FLORA

FLORA., IND., The Rev. Dennis Odell, 67, a retired Baptist minister, died at his residence on East Main Street at 3:30 p.m. Thursday after an illness of several weeks. He was born in Young America April 12, 1881, the son of S. J. and Elizabeth Ann Rice Odell. He first married Ruby Hughes and then Mabel Billings, both of whom preceded him in death. His last marriage was to Bertha Kreighbaum, who survives. At the time of his death he was a member of the Flora Baptist Church. He attended Colgate University, Louisville Theological Seminary and Franklin College. During his lifetime, he served pastorates at the following university towns: Burney and Sand Creek, Indiana, Crawfordsville; Eagle Grove and Ft. Dodge, Iowa; Mechanicsburg, N.Y.; Wooster, Ohio, and Saxton River, Vermont.

Others surviving are a son, Malcolm, Cleveland, O.; and four brothers, Ora, Logansport, Carl, Anderson, Ind., Harry, Michigantown, Ind., and Otto, Cutler. Funeral services will be conducted at the Flora Baptist Church at 2:30 Saturday afternoon with the Rev. Jack Arnold officiating. Burial will be in Maple Lawn Cemetery. The body remains at the Leiter Funeral Home where friends may call.
