Mark Alan McCaulley
June 10, 1951 -- September 22, 1999

Mark McCaulley, a salesman with Nordstrom in Walnut Creek for 10 years, died at home. He was 48. The native of Ft. Dodge, Iowa, lived in Pleasant Hill before moving to Bay Point two and one-half years ago. Education: Sioux Falls Baptist College. Affiliations and hobbies: Aids Project of Contra Costa County, Aids Walk of Contra Costa County; gardening, music and decorating.

Survivors: Companion, Alan Butcher of Bay Point; and mother, Bette McCaulley of Eagle Grove, Iowa. A brother, Thomas McCaulley, died in 1993.

Services: Pending. Burial at Rose Hill Cemetery in Eagle Grove. Arrangements by the Neptune Society, Walnut Creek. Memorial gifts: First Baptist Church, Eagle Grove, IA 50533; or Aids Project of Contra Costa County, 2280 Diamond Blvd., No. 350, Concord, CA.

Mark Alan McCaulley, 48, Pittsburg, California, formerly of Eagle Grove, died Wednesday, September 22, 1999, at his home.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church, Eagle Grove, with the Rev. Art Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove. Willim Funeral Home, Eagle Grove, is in charge of arrangements.

Surviving is his mother, Bette Watson McCaulley, Eagle Grove. He was preceded in death by his father, Glen McCaulley, and brother Tom McCaulley.

Mark Alan McCaulley was born June 10, 1951 in Fort Dodge. He was raised in Eagle Grove and attended school there, graduating in 1969. Following graduation, he attended Sioux Falls Baptist College in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, majoring in music. He taught music for a year and a half in Pocahontas. He moved to Chicago, Illinois and then to San Francisco, California, where he sold pianos and organs. He moved to Pittsburg, California and worked for Nordstrom's Department Store in the men's department for the last nine years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Eagle Grove, was active in youth work and was church organist and pianist for many years.
