EAGLE GROVE, Iowa -- Orpha Michalson Proctor, 89, died Thursday, Nov. 7, 2002, at the Rotary Ann Nursing Home. She was born Aug. 26, 1913, in Vincent, Iowa. She attended school in Newark Township and graduated from Eagle Grove High School in 1933. She graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with a teaching degree. After teaching in Humboldt County, Iowa, she moved to Denver, where she married Frederick Proctor. They made their home in Guilderland, N.Y., where she taught for many years. They later retired to Surfside Beach.

She was predeceased by her parents; her husband; a sister, Marie Strachan; and a brother, Ervin Michalson. Survivors include a sister-in-law, Roberta Michalson; a cousin, Maurice Thompson; and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Hillcrest Cemetery. The Rev. Bob Caswell will officiate. Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway chapel, is in charge.
