John E. Anderson died Thursday, Oct. 27, 2005 at the Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames at the age of 72 years. Memorials may be left to the American Cancer Society and American Heart Association. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, October 31, 2005 at 10:30 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Eagle Grove with Father Chris Podhajsky officiating. Visitation is Sunday from 5 - 8 p.m. at the Foust Funeral Home in Eagle Grove with a Parish Vigil Service at 5:00 p.m. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, in rural Eagle Grove.

John E. Anderson "Jack" was son of Clarence and Mildred Katherine (Adams) Anderson. In 1951, he graduated from Towson Catholic High School in Baltimore, Maryland, where he was a Academic & All-State Football standout. He graduated from Eagle Grove Junior College. He was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1955 and honorably discharged in 1957. He was united in Marriage with Beverly Heiken in 1960 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Webster City.

Survivors include his wife, Beverly of Woolstock: son, Dr. Ed & Brenda Anderson of Dallas Center, daughter, Kate & Andrew Bitto of Mundelein, IL., son, Adam & Linda Anderson of Ellsworth, son, Chris & Kristy Anderson of Webster City, daughter, Theresa Anderson of Mundelein, IL., son, Dr. Nick & Shilpa Anderson of Bristow, VA, son, Michael Anderson of San Diego, CA, daughter, Ann & Stephen Van Nuys of Grayslake IL: grandchildren; Luke, Rachel, Samuel, Jesse and Aaron Anderson, Peter & Jack Bitto, Adam, Amanda & Abby Northrup, Alex & Anthony Anderson, Curtis, John , Katelin, & Mathias Anderson, Shiv Anderson, Madelyn Van Nauy; great-granddaughter, Kailyn Northrup; brother, Joe & Mildred Anderson of Woolstock and sister, Jane & Charles Schroder of Blairsburg. Preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jimmy and two daughters, Cecelia & Rachel.
