December 7, 1907 -- February 3, 1966

Paul W. Riley, Sr., 58, died Thursday night at his home following an eight month illness. Death was attributed to leukemia. He moved to Iowa, with parents in 1912. Paul was united in marriage Jan. 21, 1928, to Lavina Fosnot, and the family resided in the Blairsburg and Webster City community before moving to Eagle Grove.

He is survived by his wife and four sons: Paul W. Riley, Jr., and Robert E. Riley, both of Webster City, Maurice Riley of Clarion and Richard Riley of Fern Creek, Ky.; two daughters, Mrs. Roy (Rose Mary) Staples of Eagle Grove and Mrs. James (Lavonne) Lombard, Dayton, Iowa; 17 grandchildren; Two brothers, Emmet Riley, Sioux City and Carl Riley of Great Falls, Mont., and one sister, Mrs. Fern Lovingood, Castana, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, Doris, who died in infancy. He was a member of the Eagle Grove Methodist church.
