Attorney F. M. Fort came up from Clinton Monday night. He came to arrange for the interment of the remains of his aged father, S. E. Fort, who departed this life on Sunday last at the home of his son, John Fort at Eagle Grove at the advanced age of ninety years. The deceased became a resident of Iowa in 1846 settling on a farm near Baldwin where he resided for many years. A few years ago he left the farm and moved to Baldwin. Twelve years ago his life companion died which time he has made his home with his son, John. Mr. Fort was a man of high character, honest and upright in every relation of life and goes to his final repose respected by all who have known him. He will be buried in the family lot in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
