William "Butch" Sheppard, Jr., 65, died Thursday, May 26, in Toledo, Brazil. Mr. Sheppard was born July 14, 1939, at Oskaloosa the son of William L. and Tillie (DeKoning) Sheppard, Sr. He graduated from Pella High School in 1957 and A.I.B. in Des Moines with an accounting degree. Bill served in the U.S. Army from 1957 to 1962. He married Peggy Story on June 24, 1962 in Clarion.

Bill is survived by his wife, Peggy; one son, Jon of Des Moines; one daughter Lisa (Scott) Stuelke of Iowa City: two grandsons, Christian David and Theron William Stuelke, both of Iowa City; two sisters, Geneva Aalbers of Ottumwa and Mary Lou (Donnie) Buyert of Pella.

Memorials may be directed to the Valley Church Building Fund For the Future, the Brazilian GO Team of the Church or the Third Reformed Church, Pella, Building Program. Burial was at Resthaven Cemetery.
