May 29, 1906 - Dec.14, 1999Harold H. TURK, 93, Akron, Indiana died 3 p.m. Tuesday at his home. Born in Clarion, Iowa to Fredrick W. and Alivana Bodenschier, he married Mildred I. Hall on Jan. 29, 1929 in Mason City, Iowa. She survives. Mr. Turk was a railroad conductor for Great Western Railroad. He was a member of United Transportation Union and United Church of Christ. Survivors include one daughter, Suzanne and husband Dean Baker, Akron; one son, Richard and wife Carol Turk, Palm Harbor, Fla.; three grandchildren, Christopher Baker, Rochester, Sarah Solano, Akron, and Marne Turk, Boston, Mass; one sister, Irene Foltz, Gridley, Calif. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Akron United Methodist Church with the Rev. Stevan Halflich officiating. Burial will be in Clarion, Iowa. No visitation is planned. Memorials may be made to United Church of Christ, Clarion, Iowa, or Clarion Community Memorial Hospital. Hartzler Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
