Clarence Bray was born at Dows, Iowa, 25 March, 1885 and grew to manhood there. On 9 May, 1909 he was united in marriage to Louella Sophia Hagenson at Dows, Iowa and to this union one daughter was born. The family left Dows, Iowa in 1915 and and came to Washburn County and have resided in the township of Crystal for the past 46 years. Mr. Bray had been seriously ill for the past four months and passed away at St. Lukes Hospital in Duluth, Minnesota, on Saturday, 27, June at the age of 79 years.

Four brothers and two sisters preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife Luella, one daughter, Genevive, (Mrs. Elmer Anderson), Earl, one grandson, Robert, and one great-grandaughter and one brother, Grant, Spooner, three sisters, Mrs. Lena Kern, Los Angeles, Calif, Mrs. Bess Neely, San Francisco, Calif, and Mrs. Marie Spencer, Marshalltown, Iowa.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, 1 July at 2p.m. at Dahl Funeral Home, Rev. Roy Brown of Trego officiated, burial in Earl. Casket bearers were Anton Heller, Sam Gilbert, Ray Shoquist, Walter Rasmussen, Carl Johnson and Arthur Buttenhoff.
