Final Rites Held for 71 Year Old Goldfield Farmer
GOLDFIELD—Fred A. Rasmussen 71, a retired farmer, died at his home here early Saturday following a serious illness. He has been a resident of this vicinity for 65 years, having come to this country from his native country, Denmark, at the age of seven years. The family resided in Evergreen neighborhood in his early boyhood later moving to a farm northwest of Goldfield where he resided until retiring from active farming. He was united in marriage to Mary Slaikeu on Dec. 28, 1893. Of their five children, three, Willard, Hazel and Kenneth preceded him in death. He is survived by his widow and two children, Eldon A. and Tressa A., both of Goldfield, besides three grandchildren, several brothers and sisters, and many other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services were held at the United Presbyterian church Sunday afternoon with the Rev. John Haupt in charge. Burial was made in the family lot in Glenwood cemetery.
