Marilyn Ann Peirce of Slater died Tuesday, November 13, 2007, at Madrid Home in Madrid, Iowa. Funeral services were held on Friday, Nov. 16, at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Slater.

Marilyn was born September 17, 1931, to Carroll and Mildred (Floden) Tweedt in Slater, Iowa. She graduated from Waldorf in 1951 and Drake in 1958. Marilyn married Ronald Peirce on August 16, 1958. She taught early elementary in Clarion, Ankeny, Hinsdale, Illinois, Urbandale and Ballard. She owned and operated "Free To Be" preschool in Slater for 15 years. Marilyn was baptized, confirmed, and married at Bethlehem Lutheran Church and will be buried in the Bethlehem Cemetery.

Marilyn is survived by her husband, Ronald of Slater; her mother, Mildred Tweedt of Slater; one son, Jayson (Carol) of Slater; one daughter, Dina (Bill Vogt) Peirce of Polk City; one sister, Colleen (Jack) Lyster of Cedar Rapids; one sister-in-law, Joyce Tweedt of Slater; two step-grandsons; two step-great granddaughters; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father and her brother Arlen. Memorials may be given to the Bethlehem Lutheran Church Building Fund.
