Eagle Grove Woman Succumbs at Home
EAGLE GROVE — Mrs. Sarah Lavina Howland, 95, widow of E. A. Howland, who was a prominent citizen of Eagle Grove 50 years ago, died Saturday at her home. Funeral arrangements are not complete. Mr. Howland died in 1906.

Services Take Place at Wilson Chapel in Eagle GroveEAGLE GROVE—Funeral services were held here for Mrs. Sarah Lavina Howland, 95, who died Saturday evening at her late residence. She was the widow of E. A. Howland, a prominent citizen of Eagle Grove 50 years ago, who died in 1906. The services in charge of the Rev. L. M. Wilkinson of the Congregational church, with a Masonic service, were held at the Wilson chapel Tuesday and burial was made in the cemetery at Iowa Falls. Mrs. Howland was born near Delaware, Ohio, and was married in 1871. Surviving are one son and three daughters: Harold M. Howland, Portland, Ore.; Mrs. Clara Smith and Lela Howland, Eagle Grove, and Mrs. Katherine Vandergon, Portland, Ore. The Howlands were residents of this city for more than 57 years.
