Alec Michael Lawson, 19, of Goldfield, passed away on Saturday, September 15, 2007, at his home. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, September 18, 2007, at the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Eagle Grove. Pastor Stan Peterson of the Samuel Lutheran Church officiated at the 1:00 p.m. service.

Alec Michael Lawson, was born on May 16, 1988 in Ames, the son of Theodore H. Lawson and Susan M. Crandall Elberg. He was raised in Goldfield and attended the Clarion-Goldfield Schools, graduating from the Clarion-Goldfield High School in 2007. He was currently a student at the University of Iowa studying Math and Physics. Alec was a member of the Samuel Lutheran Church in Eagle Grove. He enjoyed music, playing guitar and skateboarding.

He is survived by his mother, Susie and step-father, Marty Elberg of Eagle Grove; father, Ted Lawson of Goldfield; brother, Kaleb Lawson of Goldfield; step-brother, Taylor Elberg of Eagle Grove; grandparents, Peggy Parker of Bode and R.J. "Toby" and Vivian Crandall of Eagle Grove; step-grandparents, Harold and Jo Elberg of Eagle Grove; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Earl Lawson; step-grandfather, Clarence Parker; and cousin, Gilbert Hirsch.
