GOLDFIELD — Fred D. Eudy, the son of Arthur M. and Emma (Dupree) Eudy, was born July 16, 1917, in Ladonia, Texas. Fred entered the United States Army in 1942 and served during W.W.II. He was honorably discharged in 1945, after serving three years and receiving a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart. Fred worked over 50 years as a carpenter/locksmith for Union #1780 in Las Vegas, Nevada. On December 28, 1982, Fred was united in marriage with Ruth E. (Nelson) Rasmussen in Lake Mead, Arizona. The couple wintered in Meadview, Pierce Ferry, Lake Mead and Kingman, Arizona and they also made their home rural Goldfield. In Fred’s spare time he enjoyed fishing and camping.

Fred passed away Friday, September 14, 2007, at the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown, at the age of 90 years. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife, Ruth Rasmussen Eudy of Goldfield; three step sons, Dennis W. Rasmussen, Bruce Rasmussen and Galen Rasmussen; 6 step grandchildren and 7 step great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, September 22, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. at the Lake Lutheran Church in rural Goldfield with Pastor Truman Larson officiating. Memorial contributions may be left to the discretion of the family. Foust Funeral Home of Eagle Grove in charge of arrangements.
