Mrs. Robert Prehm Dies Suddenly After Stroke
EAGLE GROVE — Mrs. Ethel Eva Mae Prehm, 49, wife of Robert ("Pete") Prehm, died suddenly Tuesday, from a heart attack. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p. m., at the Baptist Church, in charge of the Rev. Harry Throckmorton, pastor of the church. She is survived by her husband, four sons, and one daughter. Two sons are in the service, one in Hawaii, and one in Florida; one lives on a farm near Humboldt, and one works in a defense plant in Detroit, Mich. Death occurred at the home of her daughter. She had lived in Eagle Grove all her life; her name before her marriage was Ethel Rounds, daughter of Charles Rounds, who died in 1916. The mother died four years ago.

Ethel Eva Mae Rounds, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Rounds, was born in Eagle Grove June 12, 1894, and died at her home in Eagle Grove July 6, 1943 at the age of 49 years and 24 days. She spent her girlhood days in Eagle Grove, attending the East Side school and later graduating from the high school.On July 10, 1910, she was united in marriage to R. T. Prehm of Eagle Grove and had she lived they would have celebrated their 33rd wedding anniversary on the day of her burial. Mr. and Mrs. Prehm spent their entire life in Eagle Grove.
To this union four sons and two daughters were born, one daughter, Evelyn, passed away in infancy. Those remaining to mourn the passing of their mother are: Edward of Humboldt; William of Detroit, Mich.; Thomas, with the United States army overseas; Charles of Camp Blanding, Fla.; and Beth at home.
While a young lady she was converted and united with the First Baptist church of Eagle Grove. She was very fond of her church and attended the services whenever possible. Mrs. Prehm loved her home and her dear ones. She greatly enjoyed having her children and relatives about her and visitors were always welcome. She was a good neighbor and will be missed by those living near her.
Besides her loving husband and children, she leaves to mourn her passing, three grandchildren, William Jr. of Detroit; Deloris of Humboldt, and Larry of Eagle Grove; two brothers, Doremas of Houston, Tex.; Charles of Galt; one sister, Mrs. Harry Snyder of Eagle Grove, several aunts, uncles and cousins and many friends.
Funeral services were held at the Baptist church Saturday, July 10, with Kubitschek and Kastler in charge. Burial was in Rose Hill cemetery. Rev. Harry Throckmorton was in charge of the services.
