CLARION - Kathleen Karkosh Temeyer, the daughter of Milo "Mike" and Whyla (Kitch) Karkosh, was born on March 8, 1947, in Cedar Rapids. She graduated from LaSalle High School, Cedar Rapids, in 1965, the University of Iowa, receiving her B.A. in sociology in 1968, and the University of Iowa School of Dentistry in 1980.
On Dec. 27, 1970, Kathleen was united in marriage with Jerry Temeyer in Cedar Rapids. The couple made their home in Eagle Grove for 22 years and in Clarion the last five years. Kathleen worked as a dentist for 27 years, retiring due to her health in 2007. She had practices in Clarion and Eagle Grove. Kathleen was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Catholic Daughters of America, AAUW and the American Dental Association. Kathleen passed away on Friday (Aug. 17, 2007) at her home in Clarion at the age of 60 after fighting a courageous battle with cancer.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Milo and Whyla Karkosh. Survivors include her husband, Jerry Temeyer, of Clarion; daughter, Pauline Temeyer of Clarion; sons, Joe Temeyer of Le Mars and Tim Temeyer of Albany, N.Y.; grandchildren, Thomas and Katie Temeyer of Clarion; sister, Marcia Lemke and husband, Paul, of Ankeny; brother, Roy Karkosh and wife, Diane, of Churchton, MD.
Memorials may be left to the Haiti Fund in care of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Eagle Grove, or Wright County Hospice. Concelebrated Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 22, at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Eagle Grove with Fathers Chris Podhajsky and John Hemann officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, from 1 to 8 p.m., with a rosary recitation at 5 p.m. and a vigil service to follow at the Foust Funeral Home, Eagle Grove. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Eagle Grove. Foust Funeral Home, Eagle Grove.
