SERVICES: 10:30 a.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church, Clinton.
CLINTON — Durward C. “Stub” Norem, 72, of Clinton, Iowa died Monday [April 2, 2007] at Eagle Point Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Clinton. Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tony Smith, Ric Trude, Jim Brockett, Durward Norem, Jim Schmidt, Mike Shipper and Brandon Widner.
He was born June 24, 1934, in Belmond to Durward and Christina Groen Norem. He married Dolores M. Heath on May 24, 1951, in Camanche. She died in 1994. He attended school in Clinton. He worked as a mechanic in Clinton. Survivors include his children, Tony Norem of Phoenix, Danny (Jean) Norem of Clinton, Larry (Rita) Norem of Fulton, Ill., Durward (Jeri Ann) Norem of Clinton, Gary Norem of Clinton, Mary Presson of Davenport and Vickie Bates of Clinton; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; special friend, Marylin Kupfer of Clinton; one brother, Larry (Luwanna) Norem of Fulton; and one sister, Ginny (Bob) Doescher of Fulton. Memorials may be made to the family. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two daughters, stepmother and one brother.
