Alberta M. Holm (1923-2005)

TRIPOLI — Alberta Marie "Bert" Holm, 81, of Tripoli, died Monday, Aug. 15, at the Tripoli Nursing Home of natural causes. She was born Dec. 2, 1923, in Iowa Falls, daughter of Oscar and Nellie Johnson Alverson. She married Lorenz "Ducky" Holm July 7, 1944, at Grace Lutheran Church, Tripoli. He died Sept. 23, 1984. She graduated from Rowan High School in 1941 and worked at a produce company in Sumner and at various jobs in the Tripoli area. She was also a homemaker.

Survived by: two sons, Keith (Betty) and Mike (Penny Norton), both of Tripoli; a daughter, Sharon (Paul) Darrow of Fountain, Colo.; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Keith Alverson of Florida and Oscar Alverson Jr. of New Mexico; and four sisters, Marcy Downing and Mardell Dean, both of Clarion, Gloria Alverson of Des Moines and Esther Schaeffer of California. Preceded in death by: three great-granddaughters; two brothers, Alfred and Roger Alverson; and a sister, Phyllis Alverson.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday at Grace Lutheran Church, Tripoli, with burial in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Rettig Funeral Home, Tripoli, and for an hour before services Friday at the church.
