4 CREWMEN DIE, 2 ARE INJURED IN TRAIN COLLISION
Carroll, Ia., Dec. 14 (AP) -- Four train crewmen, including a student fireman making his first run, were killed today and two were injured in a collision of a locomotive and a 37 car frate train. The collision occurred two miles west of here on a curve of the Great Western railroad single track.

Those killed were Elmer Paul, engineer; Sid Wilford, fireman; Paul's son-in-law, Walter Oldham, the student fireman, who recently was released from the navy, and D. B. Hill, brakeman. All but Hill were riding in the engine. Hill was in the frate train engine.

The injured are Ernest Sharp and Walter Thomas, engineer and fireman, respectively, of the frate engine. All of the victims lived in Clarion, Ia.
