A very sad death occurred Wednesday morning of last week at the home of Mr. Frank Dingman, five miles north of town, to which brief allusion was made last week. Mr. Samuel Kepler, whose home was near Eagle Grove, in this state was called to the bedside of his mother, who was very sick at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Dingman. Starting to return to his home, he was taken very sick at Van Wert and was brought back to Mr. Dingman's, where after several days of severe suffering, he died, as stated. Mrs. Kepler was sent for, but did not arrive until after the death of her husband.

Rev. W.H. Ilsley conducted a funeral service Thursday afternoon, and on Friday morning the funeral party took the train at Van Wert for Eagle Grove. Mr. Kepler was a prosperous father and leaves a family of sons and daughters to share the widow's affliction.
