Maynard J. Skadburg, 74, of Mason City, died Wednesday (July 25, 2001) at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis. His funeral will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday at the Holmes Lutheran Church in Holmes, with Pastor Stanley Peterson officiating. Burial will be in the Holmes Lutheran Cemetery, with military rites. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday at the Willim Funeral Home in Eagle Grove and after 9 a.m. on Monday at the church.

Maynard was born in Wright County on Aug. 31, 1926, to Ole and Thora (Peterson) Skadburg. Maynard was united in marriage to Darlene Eaton on Jan. 7, 1951, at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Fort Dodge. Maynard served in the Navy during WWII. For more than 30 years, he owned and operated Overhead Doors Sales and Services in Mason City. Also for the last 20 years he and his wife managed the Greenway Apartments in Mason City for Heartland Management.

Maynard is survived by his wife, Darlene Skadburg, of Mason City; three children, Jerry Skadburg and his wife, Maria, of Sioux City, Deb Francis, of Mason City, and Rod Skadburg and his wife, Michelle, of Mason City; five grandchildren; three siblings, Norris Skadburg and his wife, Esther, of Goldfield, Percy Skadburg and his wife, Ina Mae, of Eagle Grove, and Arnie Skadburg, and his wife, Bev, of Burt. Maynard was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Bernard Skadburg. Willim Funeral Home
