Herbert Henry Schwartz, 69, of Belmond, died Sunday (Dec. 15, 1996) at North Iowa Mercy Health Center, Mason City. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Francis Xavier Church, with the Rev. John Paisley and Deacon Nick Schmit officiating. Burial will be in St. Francis Catholic Cemetery with military graveside services under the direction of the Belmond Honor Guard. Visitation will be held from 2 to 9 p.m. today at the Dugger-Ewing Funeral Home, with a 2:30 p.m. parish rosary and a 7 p.m. Scriptural wake service.

Herbert Schwartz was born Dec. 21, 1926, in Wesley. Survivors include his wife, Jean, of Belmond; two stepsons, John Kaduce of Des Moines, and Richard Kaduce of Mason City; six stepgrandchildren; three stepgreat-grandchildren; and two sisters, Christina Olsen of Klemme and Caroline Kluckhohn of Klemme. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister in infancy.
