ROWAN -- Roland F. "Digger" Aldrich, 77, of Rowan, died Tuesday (April 16, 1996) at Belmond Community Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the United Church of Rowan, with the Rev. Joan Lent Skyrme officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 5:30 p.m. today at the Ewing Funeral Home, Belmond, with a 7 p.m. Masonic service.

Roland was born June 10, 1918, northwest of Rowan. Survivors include his wife, Darlene; three daughters, Janet Mesarvy of Atlanta, Ga.; Holly Herren of Latimer, and LeiLani Johnston of Goodell; three sons, Dennis of Rowan; James of Belmond, and Curtis of Jacksonville, Ark.; 17 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, one brother and one grandson.
