Funeral services for Roberta Sealock, 66, of Traer, will be held Friday, Aug. 21 at 10:30 am at the Traer United Methodist Church, with burial at Buckingham Cemetery, rural Traer. She died Tuesday, Aug. 18, 1992, at Belmond Community Hospital in Belmond, IA, after a long illness. Officiating at the funeral service will be the Rev. Martha Anderson. Wayne Dunlavey will provide vocal music, accompanied by Joleen Harrington at the organ. Casket bearers will be Scott Sealock, Danny Gabrielson, Rick Trask, Joshua Daniels, Gary Jordan, Terry Hamilton and Jay LeFevre. Tending to floral tributes will be Arlene Tuffree, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Steffeny and Mr. and Mrs. Darrell Nessler.

Roberta LaRue Howard Sealock was born in Crystal Township Nov. 21, 1925, the daughter of Warren and LaRue (Cooper) Howard. Roberta received her education at Traer, graduating from Traer High School in the class of 1943. On May 25, 1943, Roberta married Leland Sealock and the couple made their home farming near Traer. After retirement, Roberta and Leland spent part of each year in Arizona and in more recent years, had returned to make their home in Traer. Roberta was an active member of the Traer community, and her interest in music led her to be organist at the United Methodist Church for many years. She also enjoyed bowling, golf, and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Traer Country Club.

Roberta was preceded in death by her father, Warren Howard; her daughter, Nancy in 1971, and Nancy's husband, Richard Trask in 1991. She is survived by her husband, Leland of Traer; a son, Warren and his wife Martha of College Station, Texas; two daughters, Colleen of Salem, OR and Cynthia and her husband, Mack Gabrielson of Belmond; her mother, LaRue Howard of Traer; a sister, Rosalie Hammerberg of Mountain Home, AR; 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Visitation at Overton Funeral Home, Traer, will be after 9 am Thursday.
