Memorial services for Roger Blomker, 52, Albuquerque, NM, formerly of Humboldt, Iowa were held Tuesday, March 5, at the Faith United Methodist Church in Humboldt, with burial to be held at a later date at Union Cemetery, Humboldt. He died Friday, March 1, 1996, at the University of New Mexico Hospitals at Albuquerque, following a two-month illness. The Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home of Humboldt was in charge of the arrangements, with the Rev. Russell Dilley officiating.
Survivors include two sons, Tom Blomker of Clovis, NM, and Bob Blomker of Paris, TN; his father, Henry Blomker of Humboldt; three grandchildren; two sisters, Barbara Rietz of Des Moines and Julie Vosika of Fort Dodge; and two brothers, Ron Blomker of Humboldt and Dennis Blomker of Sheffield. He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty.
Roger Blomker, son of Henry and Betty (Jacobson) Blomker, was born Nov. 18, 1943, at Fort Dodge. He was raised and educated in the Humboldt area, graduating from Humboldt High School in 1962. After graduation, he attended Iowa Central Community College. In 1964 he married Nola Skow and they lived in Humboldt. They were later divorced. He was in the drywall business. After residing in the communities of Boone and Clarion, and Lakewood, CO, he moved to Albuquerque.
