ROWAN — James D. Utz, 68, of Rowan, died Sunday (Dec. 13, 1998) at his home. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, east of Clarion, with the Rev. Neil Hayen officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Rowan, with military honors performed by the Rowan American Legion. Visitation was held Tuesday at the Willim Funeral Home, Clarion.

Jim was born on July 26, 1931, at Coulter. He is survived by his wife, Joan; three children, Debra Little and her husband, Michael, of Overland Park, Kan., John Utz and his wife, Ineke, of Gerchsheim, Germany, and Laura Utz, of West Des Moines; and four grandchildren, James Edward Valentin Utz and Christopher, Phillip and Alexander Little. He was preceded in death by his parents.
