Rita Beenen, 77, of Mason City, died Sunday (Feb. 25, 1996) at Good Shepherd Health Center, Mason City. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Francis Xavier Church, Belmond, with the Rev. Tom Currier and deacon Nick Schmit officiating. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery in Belmond. Visitation will be held from 2:30 to 9 p.m. today at the Tenold Funeral Home, Belmond, with a 2:30 p.m. rosary recited by the Catholic Daughters of the Americas and the Rosary Society, followed at 7 p.m. by a Scripture service.

Rita Beenen was born April 2, 1918, at Belmond. Survivors include daughters, Sharon Modderman of Mason City, and Toni Beck of Forest City; son, Daniel Beenen of Muscatine; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; one sister, Ione Eide of West Des Moines; and one brother, Wayne Withers of Sioux Rapids. She was preceded in death by her parents, three husbands, two brothers and three sisters.
