Lester E. Goodman, rural Murray

Services for Lester E. Goodman, 67, rural Murray, who died July 22 at his residence, were held Friday, July 25, at the Collins Funeral Home with the Rev. Wayne M. Ferguson officiating. Burial was at the Winterset Cemetery.

Born at Dows Aug. 21, 1918, he was the son of William and Amanda Pehrson Goodman. He was a farmer, a resident of the area for 35 years and had lived at Macksburg and New Virginia. On Oct. 4, 1941, he was married to Lenita Jeffryes at Grant City, Mo. Mr. Goodman was an Army veteran of World War II, a member of the First Baptist Church at Lorimor, the VFW post at Afton and American Legion post at Murray.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Ronald of Savannah, Mo.; a daughter, Bonnie Harms of Roland; a brother, W. H. Goodman of rural Winterset; sisters, Alice Robinson of Parsons, Kan., Darlene Tucker of Branson, Mo., Clara Chickering, Virginia Goettsch and Mary Vander Voort, all of Casa Grande, Ariz.; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant child.
