DOWS - Dale Woodrow Anderson, 90, of rural Dows died Tuesday, Nov.11, 2003, at Ellsworth Municipal Hospital in Iowa Falls. Funeral services were Friday, Nov. 14, at 11 a.m. at the First Lutheran Church in Dows with Rev. Paul Thompson officiating. Burial was in the Otis Grove Cemetery, rural Dows. Memorials are suggested to the Bremwood Children's Home in Waverly or to the donor's choice. Dale was born Sept. 28, 1913, on his parents' farm in Oakland Township, rural Popejoy, to Gerhardt "G.M." and Rose (Edvenson) Anderson. He attended and graduated from Popejoy High School. On Aug. 22, 1942, Dale was united in marriage to Erdene Bertilson at Dows. He farmed in the Dows area through outhis entire farming career, raising crops, cattle and pasture-raised hogs. Dale was a member of the First Lutheran Church, where he was a former Luther League sponsor. He had served on the Farmer's Co-op Board. Reading was of great interest to Dale. Survivors include one son, Arne Anderson and wife Cindy of Dows; one daughter, Ruth Anderson of Minneapolis, Minn.; one granddaughter, Kari Ricke and husband Ted of Williams; and one grandson, Mark Anderson and wife Heidi of Polk City. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Erdene; and two sons in infancy, John Warren and Paul Gerhardt. Tenold-Andrews Funeral Home of Belmond was in charge of arrangements.
