Beulah E. Ahlstrom, 85, of Belmond, died on Monday, August 5, 2002, at her home in Belmond. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 8, at the United Methodist Church in Goodell, at 10:30 a.m. The Rev. Paddy Druhl will be officiating. Visitation will be on Wednesday, August 7, from 5-8:00 p.m., at the Tenold-Andrews Funeral Home in Belmond and will continue one hour prior to the services at the church on Thursday. Burial will be in the Belmond Cemetery.
Beulah Estelle Trott, the daughter of Allen B. and Bessie (King) Trott was born on October 9, 1916 in Dunkirk, Maryland. She attended the Smithville School. She was united in marriage to Stanley Ahlstrom on July 21, 1943 in Baltimore, Maryland. To this union two daughters were born. In 1945, they returned to the Goodell area and farmed for many years until their retirement. In 1986, they moved to their home in Belmond. Beulah's joy was having the entire family together. She enjoyed her years of bowling and gardening, playing bingo and cards, crocheting numerous keepsakes for her family and visiting with the customers at Sonja's Beauty Shop. She was a member of the Goodell United Methodist Church and the Belmond VFW Auxiliary.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Stanley on October 13, 1992; six brothers, Roy, Wilson, Marion, Pete, Dick and Hamilton; and five sisters, Bertha in infancy, Ellen, Lillian, Hettie and Peggy. Beulah will be greatly missed by her daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Ted Watne and Sonja and Brett Lobdell, all of Belmond; her five grandchildren, Troy Watne and his wife, Heidi of Meservey, Lance Watne and his wife, Melysa of Belmond, Kristina Cook and her husband, Jamie of Belmond and Ryan and Reece Lobdell of Belmond; six great-grandchildren, Paige and Kyle Watne, Cody and Brandon Watne and Jordan and Keyra Cook; also Betty Lou Flora and sister-in-law, Peggy Trott of Maryland; brothers-in-law, Roy Ahlstrom and his wife, Mildred of Cedar Rapids and Kurt Ahlstrom and his wife, Betty of Belmond; and many nieces and nephews.
