GORDON V. MEAD, 84, of Winter Haven, FL died Monday at Winter Haven Hospital. A native of Eagle Grove, Iowa, he moved to Winter Haven in 1958 from Duluth, Minn., and was retired owner of Winter Haven Ace Hardware. He formerly worked 17 years at Firestone Tire & Rubber Co. in Akron, Ohio, and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and Lake Region Yacht & Country, Rotary and Elks clubs, all in Winter Haven. He is survived by two daughters, Marilyn Copeland of Sebring and Shirley Stauffer of Tampa; a son, Dr. Gordon M. of Shreveport, La.; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Ott-Laughlin Funeral Home, Winter Haven.
