Bernard A. Miller, 54 of Belmond, died Saturday (March 9, 1996) at Belmond Community Hospital following a short illness with cancer. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 12, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Belmond, with the Rev. Jim Carpenter, officiating. Burial will be in the Belmond Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1 to 9 p.m. Monday at Tenold Funeral Home, Belmond.

Bernard Miller, the son of Alvin and Berenice (Watts) Miller, was born April 25, 1941, at Clarion. He graduated from Clarion High School and Eagle Grove Junior College. He was united in marriage to Karen Swenson on March 10, 1962, at Belmond. To this union two children were born, Pamela and Belinda. He worked at Belmond Motors from 1963-67 and from 1967 to the present for IES Utilities. He was a member of the Belmond Police Reserves for the past four years and he was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his wife, Karen of Belmond; two daughters, Pamela Morris and her husband, Kerry, of Belmond, and Belinda Oberreuter and her husband, Todd, of Alexander; four grandchildren, Joshua and Courtney Morris, Collin and Alex Oberreuter; two step-grandchildren, Brad and Dawn Oberreuter, of Norway; his stepmother, Rose Miller, Tucson, Ariz.; and four stepsisters, Delores Reese of Muskogee, Okla, Carol Weurtz, of Aurora, Colo., Lily Sopina and Shirley East, both of Tucson, Ariz. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Berenice Miller.
