IOWA FALLS-Russell M. Cooper, 71, of Iowa Falls died Sunday, Oct. 31, 2004, at Ellsworth Municipal Hospital in Iowa Falls. Funeral services will be Wednesday, Nov. 3, at 1:30 p.m. at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Radcliffe with the Rev. Dan Hart officiating. There will be a committal service Friday, Nov. 5, at 11 a.m. at the Northlawn Memory Gardens in Iowa Falls. Russell was born Feb. 22, 1933, in Dows, the son of George and Leilah (Lindsay) Cooper. He attended schools in Dows and CAL. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. On Nov. 26, 1955, he was united in marriage to Sheila Snater in Princeton, Mo. He married his second wife, Ilene Kumrow, on June 6, 1997, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Radcliffe. Russell had worked at Ralston Purina, operated Cooper and Bruns Tree Service and later Cooper Services. He was a member of the Iowa Falls Elks Club B.P.O.E. No. 1674, of which he was past exalted ruler, and Hyman-Peavey American Legion Post No. 188 of Iowa Falls. He enjoyed fishing.

Survivors include wife Ilene of Hubbard; daughter Rhonda Cooper of Mason City; two sons, Christopher Cooper and wife Tamera of Iowa Falls, and Michael Cooper and wife Carrie of Alden; two stepsons, Reg Kumrow and wife Holly of Omaha, Texas, and Dan Kumrow and wife Tammy of Hubbard; stepdaughter Sandra Heuer and husband David of Rock Valley; and 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Don, Clayton and Bob Cooper.
