Jean Roe, 85, of Webster City, died Monday, February 12, 2007,at Crestview Senior Living. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday at Faith United Methodist Church, with Rev. Michael Willer officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Foster Funeral and Cremation Center from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday and at the church after noon Friday.

Dorothy Jean Bahrenfuss, daughter of Benjamin and Elva Doolittle Bahrenfuss, was born November 18, 1921 on a farm in Blairsburg township, northeast of Webster City. She attended Blairsburg # 4 rural school and graduated from Lincoln High at Webster City in 1939. On December 15, 1940, she married Lloyd Cleo Roe in the Evangelical United Brethren parsonage at Webster City. The couple farmed for several years in the Woolstock-Webster City area, then moved to Luther where they resided for one year. Returning to Webster City, Mr. Roe worked for Huisinga and Peterson Construction Company. Mr. Roe died January 31, 1969. Jean had been employed at Woolworth’s, Ben Franklin’s for 15 years and Bacon’s Jewelry. She retired in 1997. The past 1 1/2 years, she had resided at Crestview.

Mrs. Roe is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Joyce and Richard Silvey of Moorland; Dorothy and Russell Steig of Carlisle; sons and daughters-in-law, Lowell and Hui Cha (Wendy) Roe of Lacey, WA; Larry and Pat Roe of Belle Vista, AR; 8 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brothers, Lee and Keith Bahrenfuss, both of Webster City; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Shirley Mourlam; Leila Roe; Eleanor Schroeder; Mae Bruns and brother, Robert Bahrenfuss. She was a member of the Faith United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Peace Circle and a worker with R.S.V.P.
