KELLOGG - Rena J. Leeper, 88, of Kellogg, Iowa died Sunday, Jan. 19, at Roseville Medical Center in Roseville, Calif., following a short illness while visiting her son, James of Roseville. Funeral services will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the Smith Funeral Home in Grinnell with Pastor Steve Gibson of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church officiating. Burial will be at Hazelwood Cemetery in Grinnell. Visitation will be held Sunday from noon until 9 p.m. at the funeral home where the family will be present from 2 to 4. Memorials will be accepted to the Rena J. Leeper Memorial Fund.

The daughter of Fred and Etta (Briher) Vose she was born March 11, 1914, in Eagle Grove. She and her family moved to Waterloo and she was a 1932 graduate of East Waterloo High School. On Nov. 3, 1935, she married Roy Leeper in Waterloo. The couple moved to Grinnell in 1947, where they owned and operated Leeper Music Company on Broad Street. They moved to Kellogg in 1967 and retired from the music store in 1978. Mrs. Leeper was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Kellogg Garden Club.

Survivors include one son, James of Roseville, Calif.; one sister, Velva Gustafson of Waterloo, three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
