June Marie Stiehm, 61, of Eagle Grove, died Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2007, at her home. Born March 5, 1945, in Mountain Lake, she was the daughter of Ernest and Thelma Sether Thompson. She married Jeffrey Stiehm June 5, 1977, in Jackson, Minnesota. She graduated from Jackson High School in 1963 and attended finishing school in Minneapolis for one year. Following marriage, the couple moved to Minneapolis and later to Alpha, and then to Eagle Grove in 1991. She worked at a foundry in Minnesota, and the couple managed Stiehm Hardware in Alpha. She also worked for Umthun Trucking and the Trimark Clinic in Eagle Grove, and was the office manager at Messenger Printing in Fort Dodge. She was a member of the Eagle Grove Evangelical Lutheran Church, where she taught high school Sunday school and was a youth group leader. She was also involved with Relay for Life.

Surviving are her husband; one daughter, Samantha (John) Binnetti, Savage; one son, Jeffrey II (Laura) Stiehm, Ames, Iowa; two brothers, Belmar (Laura) Thompson, San Diego, Calif., and Marvin Thompson, Jackson; one sister, Esther (Warner) Knops, Minneapolis; and five grandchildren. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Sathe-Osterberg Funeral Home, Jackson, MN. The service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Our Saviors Lutheran Church, Jackson, Minnesota with the Rev. Martin Lucin officiating. Burial will be in Hauges Cemetery, Jackson. Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society and the Hauges Cemetery Association.
