ERNEST H. GROVE RITES INCOMPLETE
Ernest H. Grove, 63, RFD One, died early Monday morning at Mercy hospital where he had been a patient for the past five weeks. Funeral arrangements, in charge of the Wilder and Bruce funeral home are incomplete. The time and place of services will be announced later. Mr. Grove was born November 15, 1883, at Sidney, Ill. Son of Mr. and Mrs. George C. Grove, he moved with his parents to Broadland, Ill., when he was a small child. The family moved to Rockwell City, when he was nine years old and he attended the public schools there. Later on the family resided in Barnum for a time. His marriage to Miss Gladys Eggspuehler of Plover took place in Des Moines in September, 1914. The couple farmed at Plover for several years and then moved to Ortonville, Minn., to farm. Seven years later they returned to Iowa. Five years ago the family moved to Webster county and a year and a half ago Mr. Grove retired from farming because of ill health and the family moved to Fort Dodge. He had been hospitalized for almost five weeks and last week his condition took a sudden turn for the worse. Mr. Grove was a member of the Independent Order of the Odd Fellows.
Surviving him are his wife and the following children: Roger Grove, Mrs. Francis Streff and Albert Grove, all of Fort Dodge; twin sons, James and Gerald, at home; and Mrs. Orvin Arthur of Eagle Grove. Five grandchildren, a sister, Mrs. Charles Archer of Rockwell City; and two brothers, Fred of Plover and Everett of Los Angeles, also survive. One son, Ernest Grove Jr., died in infancy.
