David L. Jensen, 50, of Fort Dodge, died Saturday, Feb. 26, 2005, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. Funeral services will be Tuesday, March 1, at 10:30 a.m. in the chapel of Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home with the Rev. David Grindberg, Pastor of St. Olaf Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Eagle Grove. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Surviving is his mother, Mary Ellen Hanson and step-father Arnold Hanson of Ellsworth, Iowa; daughters, Cortney of Fort Dodge, Abbie of Carroll; brothers, Lance and his wife Tina of Gretna, Neb., Marty and his wife Ann of Ellsworth, Iowa; sister, LuAnn Foster and her husband Bob of Clear Lake, Iowa; nieces and nephews, Lindsay, Justin, Curtis, April and Brayden; and last depending on the day the thing that haunted him or his soulmate, fiance Renee Ryan, and her son Zach Ryan that he loved as his own. He was preceded in death by his father Vernon Jensen.
David Lindsay Jensen was born in Fort Dodge, Iowa on Sept. 21, 1954. He was raised in Eagle Grove and graduated from Eagle Grove High School and then attended Iowa Central Community College. He was employed at various restaurants as a cook in Fort Dodge. At the time of his death, he was employed at Hy-Vee Food Store. David loved fishing, camping, reading, cooking, and was an avid Chicago Bears fan. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
