Gary L. Roepke, 68, of 154 Flynn Branch Road, Asheville, North Carolina went to be with the Lord on Friday, Aug. 19, 2005, while a patient at the John F. Keever Hospice Center. Mr. Roepke was born July 2, 1937, in Eagle Grove, Iowa, and relocated to Asheville in 1986. Gary was a son of the late Ormel and Helen Roepke. He will be missed by his wife of 28 years, Mary Roepke, daughter and husband, Vickie and Terry Moore, grandson, Matthew Allee, brothers and sisters-in-law, Mike and Janet Gaffney of Overland Park, Kansas, Jim and Phyllis Haslem of Rolling Meadow, Ill., and nieces, nephews and extended family in Iowa, Kansas, Illinois and California. The graveside service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday in Clarks Chapel Cemetery, Weaverville. At other times, the family will be at the home. Memorials may be made to the John F. Keever Hospice Center, P.O. Box 25338, Asheville, NC 28813. Asheville Area Alternative Funeral & Cremation Services, 702 Riverside Drive, Asheville, is in charge of arrangements.
