Donald DeSales Finn, 83, of Clear Lake, died on Monday, December 16, 2002, at the Mercy Medical Center North Iowa. A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Friday, December 20, at the St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Clear Lake. There will be a graveside service at 1:30 p.m., at the St. Francis Catholic Cemetery near Belmond, with military honors by the Belmond VFW. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m., on Thursday, with a scriptural wake at 6:30 p.m., followed by K of C Rosary at 7:00 p.m., at the Ward-Van Slyke Chapel in Clear Lake.

Don was born on December 11, 1919 in Belmond, the son of Jack & Luella (Parker) Finn. He entered the Navy in 1942 and served until 1946. He married Helen Mae Crabb in 1947 at Red Oak. He graduated from barber college in Sioux City. The couple moved to Clear Lake in 1953 and Don went to work for a local barbershop. He later became sole owner of Don's Barber Shop. He retired in 1998. He was a member of the St. Patrick's Church, Belmond VFW and the Knights of Columbus.

Don is survived by his daughter, Julie Cummings of Cedar Rapids; and two grandchildren, Sue of Waterloo and Sean of Cedar Rapids. Preceding him in death were his parents; brother, Leland; and wife, Helen.
