ROCHESTER, Minn. - Ruby A. Holder, 92, of 4220 55th St. N.W., and formerly of Mason City, died Friday (Feb. 21, 2003) at the Stewartville Care Center, Stewartville, Minn. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church, 213 N. Pennsylvania Ave., Mason City, with the Rev. Kenneth Hatland officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave., Mason City, and will continue one hour before the service at the church Tuesday. Memorials may be given to the Ruby Holder Memorial Fund.

Ruby was born Jan. 14, 1911, in Goldfield, Iowa, the daughter of Charlie and Louisa (Frye) Payne. She attended school in Lime Springs, Iowa. Ruby married Robert E. Holder on July 10, 1934, in Waterloo. They moved to Mason City in 1944. Ruby worked as a court attendant at the Cerro Gordo County Courthouse for 19 years, retiring in 1991. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and volunteered at the church as well as the Discovery Shop and RSVP. Her family was the center of her life. She enjoyed visits from her grandchildren and hearing of their activities. Traveling, collecting Precious Moments, baking and caring for plants were among her favorite things to do.

Ruby is survived by a son, William R. Holder and wife, Helen, of Austin, Minn., and a daughter, Mary L. Napoletano and her husband, Mark, of Rochester, Minn.; grandchildren, Robert (Ann) Holder of Golden, Colo., James Holder of Pompano Beach, Fla., Paul (Kelly) Holder of Eagle River, Wis., David Holder of Austin, Minn., Gina Napoletano of Rochester, Minn., Sarah Napoletano of Rochester, Minn., and Scot Napoletano of Oxnard, Calif.; and four great-grandchildren, Willy, Katie, Emma and Emmaus Holder. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, five brothers and five sisters. Major Erickson Funeral Home & Crematory, (641) 423-0924
