Donald R. Martin Sr., 69, of Marshalltown, formerly of Clarion, died Friday (April 25, 1997) at the Veterans Home, Marshalltown. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Willim Funeral Home with the Rev. Candice Adams of the Presbyterian Church, Clarion, officiating. His body will be cremated following funeral services. Graveside services and burial of the ashes will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Evergreen Cemetery with military services provided by the V.F.W. of Clarion. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m.

Donald Roy Martin was born May 24, 1927, in Dows. Survivors include three sons, Donald R. Jr., David R., and Dwight, all of Clarion; two daughters, Catherine Asmus of Dows, and Jacqueline Wolf of Goldfield; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Leo Martin of Clarion; and three sisters, Ester Heimer of Algona, June Schumpp of Mason City, and Ardith Knutson of Green River, Wy. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.
