RETHA M. NERVIG -- Eagle Grove
Services for Retha Nervig, 87, will be Friday, 10 a.m. at the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Fort Dodge. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery in Webster City. Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Foust Funeral Home in Eagle Grove.

RETHA MAXINE PATRICK, the daughter of Clifford and Mattie (McFall) Patrick, was born October 4, 1918, at Oskaloosa, Iowa. She was raised in the area of her birth, but was educated and graduated in 1940 from the Iowa School for the Deaf in Council Bluffs. On April 7, 1941, Retha married Marion F. Siders ain Webster City. He preceded her in death in November, 1962. Retha married Gerald Nervig on December 20, 1980, in Webster City and they made their home in Eagle Grove.

Retha was a member of the Calvary Lutheran Church of the Deaf, Des Moines, but attended Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Fort Dodge, when her pastor was there for services. Retha worked in Webster City for Fairmont Foods, K&M Laundry, Jim's Grill and retired from the Hamilton County Hospital in 1981. She truly loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, enjoyed word puzzles, cleaning and taking care of her husband Gerald.

Mrs. Nervig passed away Sunday, October 30, 2005, at the Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge, at the age of 87 years. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Marion F. Siders; sister, Edith (Patrick) Jackson and a grandson, Shannon Siders. Survivors include her husband, Gerald Nervig of Eagle Grove; three children, Donald Siders and wife Debra of Ames, Jerry Siders and wife Bonnie of Omaha, NE and Joanne McCollough and husband, Michael of Hanford, CA; eight grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be directed to the Iowa School for the Deaf, 3501 Harry Langdon Blvd., Council Bluffs, Iowa 51503 or to the Iowa Association of the Deaf, 2212 Erik Road, Cedar Falls, Iowa 50613
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Friday, November 4, 2005 at the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Fort Dodge with Pastor Dennis Konkel officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery in Webster City.
